If you leave them alone on your roof long enough, their pals lichen and moss may even show up to speed up the process. Moss and lichen are the heavy hitters in this scenario, so it’s best to nip the problem in the bud just like Barney Fife would recommend. The first thing you need to know about this process is that all major shingle manufacturers use crushed limestone in their asphalt shingles as a filler material.
